The Incarnation of ManLet us at this juncture consider the incarnation of man on earth and then trace his development. Man incarnated for the first time on earth in the mid-cycle of the development of the latter in order to provide the possibility for the continued development of the world of matter. Meanwhile, before the entrance of man, the animistic, through a gradual process of evolution had been able to produce the highest animal and as such had reached the peak of its ability to develop the world of matter further. From Abd-ru-shin we read: "The highest stage in the Gross Material World having been reached with the most perfect animal, a change for the purpose of further development had to come if there was not to be a standstill, which with its dangers could become retrogression....Thus while the vessel in the World of Gross Matter had grown to maturity, the soul in the Ethereal world had developed so far that it possessed sufficient strength to retain its independence upon entering the gross material vessel. The union of these two parts now signified a closer union of the Gross Material World with the Ethereal World, right up to the Spiritual. Only this event was the birth of man!" The human spirit had to come in at this stage otherwise standstill and decay would have ensued in the world of matter. The radiation that the human spirit possesses through the spirit spark is to be used to weld the spiritual and the material worlds into one. We were supposed to be the vehicles through which spiritual forces or radiations would reach down to this place which otherwise could not happen and therefore gradually transform the world of matter into a place resembling Paradise, our home in its beauty. The gift of the free will was supposed to be used for this purpose. This gift is inherently magnetic and being so would be able to attract all the radiations that descend down to this earth and radiate it back upwards to the Luminous Heights, drawing the earth high up in the process. The entrance of man therefore, was supposed to be a great blessing, a new epoch which would merge the immortal world with the mortal. At this mid-cycle of development of the earth, when the noblest pair of the highest animals mated, the developing physical body in the womb harboured human spirit germs instead of another animal soul. This spirit spark of course would have incarnated during pregnancy. The process is exactly similar to what happens today during pregnancy when the development of the body of the foetus is purely animistic or physical up to the middle of pregnancy and it is only during this period that the human spirit as such enters the growing physical body. The evolution of the earth up to the mid-cycle was also purely animistic, the driving force being animistic and only animistic souls incarnated. However, when the mid-cycle was reached, the human spirit germs waiting in the Beyond incarnated into the bodies of growing foetuses in the pregnant animals after these had mated. Such was the entrance of man. Man as such stood alone without parents because he could not regard the animals as parents but he had values within him which fully made up for all else. After having entered however, their evolution commenced. The evolution that would gradually take them through a series of physical and spiritual experiences and changes and which eventually was to lead them to the highest recognition of God. He was a fully intuitively perceptive human being who could perceive the direction from the Beyond and follow it. His life therefore, through this connection could be guided on definite paths that he should and must take to ensure his development. These are the paths which have been marked out by the Creator for the evolution and maturity of human spirits. These paths are steps which must be passed through by every individual on his way to the final recognition of God. These are inward spiritual paths, they are inward recognition gained through experiencing which at the same time led to changes in his physical environment and on his physical body. The spiritual paths or steps took him through:
There are however, concurrent changes resulting from all these in the
lives of the peoples. For example, hand in hand went his various physical
evolutionary changes, his gradual acquisition of the erect posture of
today, the acquisition of the ability to speak, the ability to make his
tools to hunt, the ability to gather, his ability to build shelter and
gradually the ability to express his feelings and emotions better. Later
on came the settled society in the discovery of domestication of animals
and agriculture.
