THE SPIRITUAL DEVELOPMENT OF MANAccording to the book "In the Light of Truth" the Grail Message, "The spiritual urge of desiring to see more than that which is on its own step has always resided within the spirit germ as a part of its essential nature." It is this urge, starting at the very beginning of the entrance of man on earth which accounted for his gradual upward climb in his spiritual perception which in turn was to manifest in his various religious cults. This urge was given to him so that he would be able to find his way back home. In fact, this urge, if kept alive must guarantee his return back to Paradise as a self-conscious human spirit. This urge therefore is what is most important. It must
drive him through all the steps which are necessary for his maturity and
for the perfect development of his abilities. Without this urge, he would
be stuck in the world of matter with no purpose and no means of going
back. This urge, however, in some groups of people through the indolent and
wrong use of the free will was not well cultivated and as a result they
remained in the same low level, though they have been here on earth for
millions of years. Others again through indolence have reverted back to
this low stage, while some other groups to which belong a great chunk of
humanity have diverted this urge for the recognition of God into some
other channels which would never guarantee a return back home. Therefore
this urge for the recognition of God was what initiated the upward climb
spiritually from the earth back to the spiritual heights; was what
initially led to the expulsion from Paradise and is what will guarantee
our return if properly understood and used.
